What this is:
This is a youth club for older young people with additional needs where they can socialise with their peers and participate in a range of practical activities.
Why we run it:
To enable older young people with additional needs to develop a range of life skills as well as providing them with the opportunity to make new friends and meet up with existing ones. Through engagement with a range of creative and practical activities such as making and putting up shelves, building a compost bin, batik and sewing, participants develop confidence, gain skills, increase independence and improve self-esteem.
Who it’s for:
This session is aimed at young people aged 15 - 25 with additional needs who want to develop life skills.
When and where it runs:
7:00pm - 9:00pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at Mere Youth Centre.
