We are working in partnership with Mere Primary School and Mere Food Bank to deliver this exciting new project. As a youth work charity, we are only able to provide activities for children and young people aged 8 years old and over. The sessions will be led by qualified and experienced staff and supported by a team of trained peer leaders who are part of the Seeds4Success Young Leaders programme. Each day there will be a range of different activities including sports and games, arts and crafts, practical challenges, cooking as well as some off-site activities such as nature walks and bushcraft skills. A more detailed programme will be provided closer to the start of the project.
This initiative is part of the new government scheme to provide free holiday activities and food to children and young people who are on benefit related free school meals and we are operating a priority booking scheme for these families. A healthy lunch will be provided free of charge each day and we need to provide details of the food we are requesting for the scheme by 20th July therefore our priority booking period will end at midnight on Sunday 18th July. It will be possible to book after this date however, we will also open up spaces to other local children and young people who would benefit from the opportunity.
To book a space for your child/ward please complete the booking form (download here), detailing the sessions they would like to attend, whether support with transport is required and whether they would like a mainstream meal which would include meat, a vegetarian or halal meal or an allergen free and entirely vegan option. We also require a completed Seeds4Success Annual Consent Form for each participant (download email version here and print version here).
